After several weeks of rolling around Australia and New Zealand, MYOB’s Partner Connection culminated with a two day event and gala dinner at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne last week. The Calxa team were there as part of the Add-Ons Solution trade displays, and it is fair to say, that the enquiry we received has surpassed expectations.
It is always great catching up with old friends, some who have been with us since the start. We have met heaps of new friends, many of whom are excited about what the future holds. We also met some new faces in the MYOB team, such as Joshua Haebets, who now heads up the Partner Program. Judging by the level of engagement and passion he has displayed when talking with partners, we think this can only further enhance and invigorate the whole MYOB partner community
Honour Roll
The gala dinner is the highlight of the event, which includes sales awards from MYOB Partners throughout the country. We were absolutely stoked that Calxa Acccredited Partners Pam Pitt, Rob Marshall and Pam Chilman took home MYOB Sales Awards for their respective states. However, it doesn’t stop there; we must congratulate another one of our Accredited Partners, Margaret Whitfield on being awarded the MYOB Partner of the Year for 2015! This is a fantastic achievement, for a partner who has gone above and beyond her call of duty, and is always at the forefront of providing innovative and time saving solutions for her clients. Well done Margaret!
It was also the last conference for the Collins gang from Queensland. There weren’t many dry eyes as Rod, Pauline and Sas were acknowledged for their contributions to the MYOB community over a 20-year span.
Whilst it was not all about catching up with friends and socialising, we did get to hear what is on the roadmap, past and future, as far as MYOB is concerned It was certainly a great achievement for MYOB to be awarded Australia’s Most Innovative Large Company in 2015 by Business Review Weekly (BRW), and second overall.
The Roadmap
MYOB has also delivered and enhanced more exciting solutions, with the introduction of their first cloud ERP solution, MYOB Advanced. They have also launched the MYOB Portal, which is a great tool for accountants and advisors, and allows for collaboration of documents including electronic signatures, assignment of tasks, and access to all of the MYOB online solutions in one customisable dashboard.
Their mobile app, OnTheGo now includes EFTPOS and ‘tap and go’ functionality.
Further enhancements to MYOB Essentials include an extension of the bank feed rules, and new settings for invoices and quotes.
MYOB AccountRight has received some tweaks to handle profit and loss distributions, whilst SmartBills OCR updates are coming soon.
Finally, their online POS solution, MYOB Kounta continues to evolve and provide an alternative cloud based solution for retail enterprises.
All in all, it was geat couple of days, and it appears that there is a changing in the wind, with the majority of people now talking excitedly about some of these technological advancements, rather than fearing the changes from the good old days, as older systems become superseded. We look forward to seeing the change that the next twelve months brings.
