This month we have an exciting new release coming up as part of the New in Calxa updates. Budgets have never been a solo pursuit, at least not in any sizeable organisation. They always require collaboration between multiple people and teams. Now you can do that directly in Calxa, as you’re editing your budgets.
New in Calxa: How Does Budget Collaboration Work in Calxa?
Within your budget, as you edit it, you can:
- Add comments to any cell or range of cells
- @mention other users in a comment
- Receive notifications either in-app or by email
- Reply to comments and notify the author
- React to comments with emojis
- Mark a comment as reportable so it appears in the Budget Comments report
- Mark a comment as resolved
When Should I Use the Budget Collaboration Feature?
Add comments to your budgets whenever you want to record the assumptions behind your numbers, when you want to share information or get feedback from a team member or when you want to include comments in your reporting.
Working together with your team inside of Calxa will improve your productivity and allow you to build your budgets together, so everyone understands where the numbers have come from and the logic behind decisions.
Your comments and discussions can be based on the account budgets or on the metrics or drivers that they are built from. Add comments at the business unit level or the organisation, depending on how you build your budgets.
Reporting on Comments
If you’ve marked any of your comments as reportable, they’ll show on the Budget Comments report, just as previously. Any comments you added using the old method will be automatically listed as reportable. Also, later this year we will have more to say on commentary on reports. Watch this space!
