Today is a very special day for the Calxa Team – and we would love to share it with you. Not only are you, our customer, instrumental in helping us achieve our milestone, but we feel like celebrating with family.
This week we reached our $1million donation target we set out four years ago. Mick was in awe when he talked to the team, “when we made our pledge four years ago, we didn’t realise how soon we would fulfil our target.” He says proudly, “knowing that hundreds of organisations in Australia and New Zealand are making significant inroads in cutting the burden of reporting and achieving better governance is a great feeling.”
Of course, we couldn’t have done this without our partners at Connecting Up and TechSoup. Their great work is inspirational. As not-for-profits helping other not-for-profits, their technology donations and discount programs are amazing. They truly meet their mission: “Unleash the power of NFPs”. They’re stepping up their event series too, so check out the upcoming Calxa Webinar on ‘Unit Costs with MYOB and Calxa’.
We reached our target this week with the donation to Southern Shoalhaven Meals on Wheels, a small community organisation that delivers meals and provides social services to the frail and elderly on the NSW south coast. Services co-ordinator, Vicki Love, says, “As a small not-for-profit we welcome any assistance we can get and I really think that Calxa will make a difference to our treasurer and make it easier to meet our reporting needs.”
We hear these sentiments a lot, they make us come back for more each day. “It really makes a difference for us, and if it does for us, I know Calxa actually is helping to change the world for the better by donating the software to the many charities it goes to.”, says our donor customer Alan ‘Junior’ Marlowe, Business Manager at Townsville’s contemporary arts centre Umbrella Studio.
We especially love how this milestone coincides with “Giving Tuesday” – well by one week, forgive us for taking up the opportunity. It does though symbolise the significance of our social impact on the organisations and people that we meet.
