Last night in Brisbane, Calxa was recognised for innovation. It was honoured at the iAwards as the state winner of the e-Inclusions and e-Community category, recognising the contribution its software has made to the community sector in Australia.

 The judges highlighted the high standard of nominations this year, “We received an outstanding number of quality entries this year and it is truly inspiring to see the calibre of ICT innovation that Australia has to offer when we explore the iAward nominations.  The iAwards are all about recognising, showcasing and celebrating the

“best of the best’ ICT products and services and, in doing so, providing the impetus to launch more Australian ICT successes.”


Calxa Recognised for Innovation

The award recognises the innovation of Australia’s ICT industry and the unique solution that Calxa has developed to a problem that has a major impact on Not-for-Profits. Calxa provides budgeting and cashflow forecasting software to the sector, much of it donated through Connecting Up’s DonorTec program. Community organisations are under pressure to improve reporting, achieve transparency and good governance. All while at the same time minimising their administration costs. Month-end reporting can take up to 4 days which Calxa reduces to just a few hours.

CEO Mick Devine was thrilled to receive the award but added a note of caution,

“While it’s great to be recognised by our peers in the IT industry, for us the greatest recognition comes from the feedback we get from our customers – the finance officers of community organisations across the country who no longer have to battle with complex spreadsheets every month.”


Partnership with Connecting Up

Understanding that funds are scarce in many Not-for-Profits, Calxa has partnered with Connecting Up to provide $1 million of its software to community organisations.  This will allow grassroots organisations to achieve the same productivity increases as their larger counterparts. Freeing up resources can then be directed towards core services.
