Our automated small business product, The Invisible Accountant, was honoured in the Queensland iAwards in Brisbane last week – and will be competing in the National iAwards in Melbourne at the end of August. Our CEO, Mick Devine, was thrilled to get the award and said, “It’s fantastic when our team are recognised by the industry for their continued innovation. We won one of these awards for Calxa back in 2012 and haven’t stopped innovating since”.

What is an iAward?

Hosted by the Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA), the iAwards operates in all Australian states and territories. For the past 25 years, the iAwards has unearthed, recognised and rewarded excellence in Australian innovation that is making a difference and has the potential to create positive change for the community – whether it be at home, in the office or on a global scale.

Who uses The Invisible Accountant?

We developed The Invisible Accountant for small businesses who want cashflow forecasts and better management reporting but are time-poor. Those with relatively simple businesses who are interested in having information to run things better but don’t have the time to set up budgets, go into an app or run reports.

It does it all for you. Once you’ve been through the simple sign-up process there’s nothing more to do. Sign up, connect to your online accounting data, answer a couple of questions so we get you the right information, then sit back and relax. Each month you’ll receive a bundle of reports straight to your inbox without you having to do anything at all. Just read them. And you can optionally send a copy to your business partner, accountant, bookkeeper or advisor.

Ryan Jones from Refuel Creative in Adelaide says “The Invisible Accountant helps me understand if I’m actually making money. I finally understand what’s happening in my business!”

Is The Invisible Accountant for everyone?

No, some of us have more complex businesses and need more choice and control over what reports we get. If you’re in that group, look at Calxa Express or Calxa Premier instead. You’ll still be able to automate the report delivery; you still be able to put together a bundle of the reports you need; but you’ll also be able to edit your budgets, look at multiple scenarios and choose from the whole library of reports.

If you have friends in business that need better management reports, then tell them to have a look at The Invisible Accountant – they’ll thank you for it!
