Media Release 3 May 2024
The Technology for Social Justice Conference 2024 took the opportunity to celebrate the best in the not-for-profit sector during the Australian Not-for-Profit Technology Awards 2024 held in Melbourne last night. With almost 70 award nominations, the judges had a challenging task at hand singling out just a handful of winners across the 6 categories.
The high calibre winners in each group have shone delivering outstanding service, innovation and support to the third sector. Winner of the Technology for Community Impact Award, Calxa, was upheld for their continued contribution to grassroots organisations. CEO, Mick Devine, explained “our priority has always been the small to medium sized organisation who have the same administrative burden as their larger counterparts but deliver these with less resources”.
This is the second time the Townsville based software company was recognised for backing not-for-profits in Australia and New Zealand. Their last recognition in 2016 awarded for their generous donation program. Having broken the $2.5million barrier in software donations recently, Calxa has assisted more than 1350 community organisations and helped their Executive Management and Boards to make better and more informed decisions.
The category was sponsored by Dell Technologies. Devine shared his gratitude to all private companies that help drive social change, “Dell have a great product and their constancy is an inspiration to many in our tech industry. ”.
“Of course, we are over the moon to win this award but we don’t achieve what we do in isolation. We couldn’t do this without our partnership with Infoxchange that enables our donation program and our extensive partner network around the world.”. Calxa has been partnering with Connecting Up and Infoxchange since 2010 with the collaboration strengthening year-after-year.
