Our team have been busy working on a couple of big projects this year but they haven’t been neglecting the smaller, but still important, improvements. We’ve made the transfer of subscriptions much simpler for you and made significant improvements to the performance of budget formulas. Especially for those of you with millions of formula references. And there’s more to come!

Simpler Transferring of Subscriptions

Not everyone stays in the same role for a lifetime so you do sometimes need to move your Calxa subscription to another person. Though we do still have a handful of customers who saw the very first release of Calxa in 2010!

We’ve simplified the process and now allow any owner or co-owner to transfer the subscription so it doesn’t matter if the previous owner has moved on. When changing the billing owner, you can now choose to keep the existing payment method if that’s still relevant. This process should now be much easier to manage when you do need it.

Faster and More Reliable Saving of Budget Formulas

Those of you who are heavy users of formulas in your budgets should have noticed much improved performance in the last few weeks. Saving and updating of formulas is many times faster than it was due to us refactoring the way we manage the recalculation of data. On the rare occasions when there is a delay with saving, you’ll receive notification so you are always aware of what’s happening.

Additionally, budgets are updated live for all users. When one person makes a change, others who have that budget open, will see it instantly. This will improve collaboration on budgets.

Coming Soon

Those are the most recent jobs our team has completed. Here’s an update on what’s in progress for release in the next few weeks:

NetSuite Projects

Import actuals for Projects and Tasks from NetSuite to Calxa.

Functional P&L

If the term isn’t familiar, think of it as Business Units as Rows. In the top-level header of an Account Tree (Income, Expense, etc), you’ll be able to choose either Business Units or Accounts.

Budget Snapshots

Save a snapshot of your budget before making major changes so that you have the option to restore it later.

Merge Scenarios

Blend scenarios into a budget once you’ve decided it’s going to be a permanent addition.

Sage Intacct Integration

Late this year we’ll add to our Enterprise plans with connections to Sage Intacct.

Find out more in our release notes for August and September.

To see the recent changes, look out for our change logs with all the details. There’s lots more we’re working on and coming up as new in Calxa over the next few months.

Feedback is Always Welcome

We value your feedback. To make the most of this feedback, we record every scrap of information we pick up from our day-to-day conversations with you. Here, our quest is to learn what you need. Ultimately, we want to deliver what will help you get your work done easier. So, feel free to give us unsolicited suggestions at any time. Some will take time to implement. However, sometimes we get ideas from customers that are very simple to change and make a big difference.
