Thanks to our partners at Connecting Up and all of you good people who’ve helped to spread the word, we’ve achieved a major milestone in donating half a million dollars’ worth of Calxa Premier to grassroots Not-for-Profits.

The project started in mid-2011 with the aim of providing smaller community organisations the tools they need to better manage their budgeting, board reporting and grant acquittals.

Our CEO, Mick Devine, is astounded at the take up rate of the donations. “We anticipated the program to run over several years. Looking at the growth of donations this past six months, we are well on our way to reaching our $1million target by the end of 2014. It’s a great opportunity for smaller NFPs to achieve the productivity gains usually reserved for their larger counterparts.”

The donation program is managed by Connecting Up who co-ordinate donated and discounted technology for Not-for-Profits. With a push to improve productivity, NFPs are looking at technology to automate manual processes. The Connecting Up program facilitates this beautifully with recent discounted offers by MYOB to migrate to their cloud solution AccountRight Live with which Calxa integrates seamlessly. Combining donations from software vendors such as Calxa and Microsoft with discounts from MYOB, gives community groups the ability to automate and streamline their entire back office, leaving more funds available for their core functions.

Volunteer based organisation, Crime Stoppers Queensland, has experienced firsthand the benefits of embracing technology. Migrating their accounting data to the cloud allows multiple users in the file at once. Combining this with direct bank feeds and the ability to electronically distribute reports out of Calxa, the team is not only saving time but producing a whole lot less paper. “It saves us a few hours every month. Now I just open the software, update and print my reports. I don’t have to do all that manual processing” says their CEO, Trevor O’Hara.

Could your organisation use a Calxa Premier donation? Do you have friends or colleagues who could use one? We’d love to get to that $1,000,000 target next year and your help in spreading the word would be appreciated by all involved – just go to the Connecting Up site to apply.
