In Melbourne today, Doug Jacquier, CEO of DonorTec, announced their partnership with Calxa Australia to provide $1,000,000 worth of budgeting software to grassroots not-for-profit organisations across the country.

Software Donations

Through the alliance with DonorTec, Calxa will make available its Premier product, worth $1,495 each, free of charge to smaller not-for-profit organisations so that they can achieve the same productivity increases as their larger counterparts and free up resources to be directed towards their core services. The company’s chief executive officer, Mick Devine, said “Everyone wants not-for-profits to spend more of their resources on service delivery and less on administration. This is our way of helping them achieve this goal while still providing the reporting needed to achieve good governance.”

Budget reporting is an essential management requirement for all not-for-profits. It provides transparency to donors and grant-providers as well as control to board members. Traditionally it’s been a very labor-intensive process with many small organisations spending days each month preparing reports.

Devine added that not-for-profit organisations played a vital role in the community but were often hampered by a lack of funding for technology upgrades. “DonorTec has been helping with donations from Microsoft, Symantec, and others for a number of years now and we’re proud to add our name to the list,” he said.

Calxa Premier is simple to use and provides reports that are easily interpreted by non-accountants. The software allows organisations to easily tailor reports, update data and manage complex budgets. Integrating directly with their accounting data, it guarantees accuracy and data integrity.

Eligibility guidelines are available at www.donortec.org. Not-for-profit organisations with an annual turnover of less than $1million are encouraged to apply.
