Connecting Up Workshops brings together Microsoft, Infoxchange and Calxa

Hot on the heels of the V8 Supercars, the Connecting Up Roadshow roars into Townsville on 12th July for 3 days of intensive sector building after which the show moves north to Darwin on the 19th July.

With the success of their Melbourne Conference in late May, Connecting Up are teaming with Microsoft, Infoxchange and Calxa to showcase a practical and informative series of workshops and presentations.

Microsoft Connecting Communities

The first day of the event entitled “Microsoft Connecting Communities – Cloud Computing for NFPs”, will address topics such as the complexities of dealing with staff in multiple locations and examine the use of tools such as (free) Microsoft 365 to assist in providing accurate and relevant information to staff, when and where they need it. The morning session is dedicated to small to medium organisations whilst the afternoon is set aside for medium to large not-for-profits.

Marketing on a Limited Budget

Targeting organisations looking to boost their profile as they transition to the NDIS, day two kicks off with a workshop called “Practical Marketing for NFP Organisations”. A broad range of topics will be covered and will look to use real life examples to stimulate ideas and conversation. Attendees are encouraged to bring some of their own examples for what should be a virbrant and interesting session.

Prepping Financially for the NDIS

“Financial preparation for the NDIS” is the topic of the last and final day of the event. With the huge changes being experienced throughout the sector, Calxa will deliver this workshop to address a number of key factors such as Unit Costing, Budgeting and Forecasting ahead.

Sharing Grassroots Knowledge

With much discussion in recent times centered around the need for NDIS preparation, the three days will provide a vital opportunity for service providers to evaluate technologies and concepts which are rapidly becoming an intrinsic part of the ongoing move towards consumer directed funding.

The last 12 months has seen a steady development in the number of seminars run by the government and peak bodies – all aimed at disseminating policy and general guidelines for providers to follow. Feedback from the sector has indicated that a genuine desire exists for more practical “how-to” information.

These workshops are designed to provide a more hands-on experience with a view of highlighting the possibilities and opportunities that can become available when using technology to overcome traditional hurdles to expansion.

Registrations are Now Open

Connecting Up and Calxa have partnered in the past four years to provide over $1 million in donated software to grassroots NFP organisations. If you are interested in taking advantage of these resources and wish to take part in any or all of these workshops make sure to register before they fully book.
