General FAQs
What are the minimum hardware requirements to run Calxa?
Most computers purchased in the past 3 years should be adequate to run your software. You will need:
- Windows XP (Service Pack 2 or later), Windows Vista or Windows 7
- 1 GB or more of RAM
- 500MB of free disk space for installation
- (recommended) broadband internet connection to receive regular updates and enhancements
What accounting software works with Calxa?
Initially you will be able to use Calxa with any of the following MYOB products:
- MYOB Accounting 16 to AccountRight Standard 19 (Australia or New Zealand)
- MYOB Accounting Plus 16 to AccountRight Plus19 (Australia or New Zealand)
- MYOB Premier 10 to AccountRight Premier 19 (Australia or New Zealand)
- MYOB AccountEdge 7 to 9 (Australia or New Zealand) (see note below)
In the second half of 2010 we will provide support for QuickBooks products and also Xero
Yes, but only if you are using an Intel-based Mac and run Windows on the Mac. You can then run Calxa under Windows and access your AccountEdge data file in a shared folder.
Where can I get training on Calxa?
Video and text-based training materials are available from the Training and Support page on this site. Our training partner, Lateral Solutions, conducts regular webinars and classroom training. More details are available at www.lateralsolutions.com.au
What happens when my subscription expires?
Because Calxa software is licensed on a periodic basis, you must renew your licence in order to continue using it. If your subscription expires, the application will become read-only. This means that
- you can still access all your information
- you can still run reports
- you can still export budget information
- you won’t be able to update actuals from your accounting system
- you won’t be able to create new budgets
- you won’t be able to edit existing budgets
For these reasons we recommend you promptly renew your subscription when it is due. Monthly payment options are available on request.
